Founded in 1765 by Irish officer Richard Hennessy, Hennessy has grown into the world’s largest Cognac producer, supplying more than 160 countries worldwide. A visit begins with a short boat crossing over the River Charente before entering the historic ageing cellars where thousands of oak barrels quietly mature.
Guided tours explain every stage of Cognac production, from grape harvesting and double distillation in copper stills to barrel ageing and the complex art of blending. Visitors also learn about the role of the Master Blender, whose expertise ensures the consistent quality that has made Hennessy one of the world’s leading luxury brands.
